The End

Wow. In a few hours I will be enroute home, through bus, plane, and car. I’ve said goodbye to all my  new friends and housemates, everything is packed, all loose ends are tied, and now it’s time to go home. I can not express how excited I am to go home, and yet, there is still a great sadness that is also with me. I’ve had a good time here, and I will genuinely miss it. It makes me smile at how, even though at times the days seem to drag by, I look back and can’t even believe at how much I have experienced, learned, and witnessed in my short time here, for now it does seem like it went by very quickly.

My roommates just woke me up for the last time, unfortunately this time has more severe consequences as I have a long day tomorrow, but ah well, tomorrow at this time I will be safe in Michigan, while not quite home, it will feel good to be there. See you all soon!

The End is Near

Wow, has it already been three and half months? Seems crazy right?

Yesterday I got my essays back, remember the two 5,000 word essays I had to complete, and guess what ya’ll? I got the highest score in each class! I think I shared first with one girl in my third year course, Local History and Genealogy, and came in a high first in my Modern Irish History course. I was so super excited! I was so worried that I wasn’t going to do well, especially when I was representing NCMC, but fortunately it all worked out well :D!

This weekend is full of plans for goodbye parties, lunches, and packing. Today I booked my bus ticket for the morning of the 16th. I had to get it for the 8:00 bus, so I should get there from anywhere between 9:30-10:00, so 1.5-2 hours ahead of time, should be good.  Also did the rest of the Christmas shopping and got a new shirt to wear out this weekend. Also went out to lunch with a few friends, including Jen, and it was a good day all around.

This Friday there is the final night on the town with the Erasmus students and on Saturday Jen and the Irish friends are getting together for a farewell, I’m gonna miss them so much! Jen especially, she is amazing!

Thank you all for your amazing support! This has been the experience of a lifetime! It had it’s ups and downs like everything in life, but it has been such an amazing experience and I will miss it, though I am super excited to come home and be with friends and family.

I love you all so much, thank you, you truly are my support!

Thanksgiving

Happy Belated Thanksgiving everyone!

I was able to celebrate with Jen and some of her friends, we mad a ridiculously large dinner…

Turkey

2 kinds of stuffing

rolls

veggies and dip

turkey and ham rolls and cheese

mashed potatoes

Sweet potatoes

green beans

Gravy

cranberry sauce (homemade of course)

Banoffee Pie

Carmel Rolls

Whew! But everyone just loved it so it was well worth it, and they even surprise Jen and me with flowers, it was super sweet of them! Afterwards we sat around, talked, and had a few drinks. I got home around 2:30ish ready to never eat again, lol!

Pictures are up of Thanksgiving, and there is also an album called Friends so you can put some faces to the names.

Love you all!

Dublin Pics are up all! It rained so much that I didn’t get to take many pictures, mores the pity. But at least I got to see it all! Most of the pics are of the Kilmainham Jail, which was very haunting…but very cool..it kinda brough me full circle, since that where Robert Emmet was held.

Well I’m off for more essay writing, a scholar’s work is never done!

End of Another Month

Hey all, it’s the 31st of October and here I am sitting watching fireworks outside of my window, nothing big, just the ones you can buy, well not at home :D I’m swamped with homework, which is what I’m in the midst of working on, you should see my bed…strewn with books on Irish history everywhere! But I though I would drop you all a quick line.

Went on a bus tour last night, we all dressed up, and I can’t say it was tons of fun. It was super cold and kinda boring. They told us some neat legends about Ireland and Galway, but nothing too special. The best part of the night, sad to say, was they had thrown around a little stuffed ghost that was super cute and I ended up cuddling with him for warmth…it was COLD! When we went to get off the bus I gave the ghost back only to have it handed back to me to keep…YAYS! We went to SuperMac’s and a pub after, but I ended up only having a drink and getting home around 12. I know, what a party animal huh, lol.

Well back to my history reports! I miss you all so much! Love you!!
